Where exactly is my code stored?
All repositories, metadata, and backups reside on dedicated infrastructure within the European Union. No data is transferred outside the EU, and we do not rely on US-based cloud providers for storage or processing.
Do you train AI on my repositories?
No. We do not train AI models on your data — private or public. Your private repositories are never accessed for AI training by anyone. This is a contractual and technical prohibition: we have no data-sharing relationships with AI companies, no model ingestion pipelines, and no arrangements that allow training on your content.
Can I host AI-generated or vibe-coded projects?
Yes — welcome aboard. We have no content policy on how your code is written: use Copilot, Claude, Codex, or none at all. Some platforms now ban mostly AI-generated projects; gitbuild.dev does not. The only AI rule we have is that your code is never used by us to train models — your private repositories are completely protected from AI training by anyone.

How is this different from GitHub or GitLab?
gitbuild.dev is European Git hosting built on Forgejo, a fully open-source Git platform. Unlike GitHub (Microsoft) or GitLab Inc., your code is hosted in the EU under European data protection law, we do not train AI on your data, and your private repositories are completely protected from AI training by anyone. No US data transfers, no proprietary lock-in. Same Git workflow, different jurisdiction.
Can I migrate my existing repositories?
Yes — it's the same Git protocol. Change your remote URL, push, and you're done. Issues, pull requests, and CI pipelines can be migrated using Forgejo's built-in migration tools or community-maintained scripts.
